Alice and Shane are thrilled to be introducing a guest artist this year at their upcoming exhibition, Born from Fire 2018 – ‘From Ocean to Forest’.

Guest artist – Sonny Sofe

Sonny Sofe is based in Nadi, and his beautiful carved pieces are wonderful examples of the talent in 3 dimensional art to be found in Fiji, which we want to showcase through Born from Fire.

Sonny Sofe was born in Fiji of Rotuman and Samoan parents, and now works at his studio in Votualevu. His multicultural background inspires and infuses his work.

He trained in graphic design, but he has developed his artistic talent across a multitude of media – illustration, animation, sculpture and painting as well the art of tattooing.

At “Born from Fire” it is his carved and sculpted balabala which are featured – Pacific totems reimagined with immense skill and technique.

Sonny’s studio, “Yanuyanu” is to be found at 21, Beverley Hills, Votualevu, Nadi, Fiji.
